USB Portable duplex scanner

scanner

If you work on computer, you must have scanned documents as scanning makes lots of work easier. For example if you have to type a document from printed matter, you can simply scan it and then copy text by recognizing text using OCR feature found in many word processing software’s. A duplex document scanner is one such device which you can make scanning work even easier. The first thing I would like to tell you about this device is that it’s a USB device and only connected to computer using one USB cable. There is even no power cable as this device works from the power available in USB port so no more wire clutter on your desk and no more bulky power adapters. The second best feature is that it’s got the ability to scan both sides of the pages at once thereby saving a lot of time and hard work. Once scanned, the document can be saved in many formats like BMP, JPG, TIF, PSD, PCX, PNG or TGA using DocShell software which comes bundled with this scanner. This software is Vista compatible too. Using dual image sensor, it provides high resolution scanned images of 600 dpi x 1200 dpi. It can scan three pages per minute in color and six pages per minute in black and white. It’s a must have gadget for every computer user.

Hard drive price drop

hard disk price

Good news for people who were planning to buy new HDD for their computer or upgrading their laptop HDD. Recent survey tells that Desktop hard drive prices fell to $51 in the third quarter of 2007, compared to $52.75 the previous year while notebook HDD fell to $53 from $86. the reason behind is the tough competition between all major HDD manufacturers like Seagate , Western Digital, Samsung, Hitachi etc. Also the flash memories are also to be blamed for any further drop in price of HDD as people have came to know the benefits of using SSD even if they have less storage space to offer at present.
