Dell Korea today launched its eco-friendly mini desktop pc ‘Studio Hybrid’ in Korea market, which can be stood vertically or horizontally. Designed with a bamboo-clad concept, the Studio Hybrid comes in six different colors.

Measuring 72×211×197mm at 1.8kg, the Studio Hybrid is powered by Intel Pentium Dual Core T2390 processor, Windows Vista Home Basic/Premium, up to 4GB of RAM and 320GB HDD. It also support WiFi, five USB ports and HDMI/DVI ports.

Panasonic expects to launch a Montevina platform based notebook ‘TOUGHBOOK 52′ designed for company use.

Using a 15.4-inch wide screen with 1920×1200 (WUXGA) resolution, this waterproof notebook is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 (2.40GHz) processor and Windows Vista Business OS. Dimensions are 355.7×286.8×50.7~51.9mm at 3.4kg, it will be available in October. No words on pricing yet.

AMD has aimed this time to put all the benefits of console gaming in PC. Although PC gaming has a very committed to fan-base but it is impossible to not see the many benefits that console gaming offers: faster loads, better compatibility and more games that fully utilize the hardware to name a few. AMD just launched a new initiative called AMD GAME! that attempts to bring some of these benefits to PC games as well. AMD will be certifying hardware for two different levels of PC gaming standards, testing compatibility with a host of current and future PC titles as well as offering up AMD GAME! ready components or pre-built systems from partners. AMD GAME! will come in two flavors, AMD GAME! and AMG GAME! Ultra. Let’s see if this can bring up the lost image of AMD after launch of Phenom.

Dell XPS730 Series gaming PCs

Dell launched its high-end gaming PCs ‘XPS730 Series which are equipped with Intel Quad-Core processor. There are two models available for now, XPS 730 and XPS 730 H2C. The XPS 730 model adopts Core 2 Quad Q9300 (2.50GHz), 320GB HDD, 2GB of memory, and GeForce 8800 GT(512MB) while the XPS 730 H2C uses slightly higher clocked processor Core 2 Quad Q9550 (2.83GHz) and GeForce 8800 GT graphics card with 256mb memory.

Both the models will be shipped with Window Vista Home Premium (err.) and priced at 2,119,000 KRW for XPS 730 and 3,380,000 KRW for XPS 730 H2C.

Vista Downgrade Service from Dell

Well, you could take a leaf out of Dell’s book, and supply Vista like you’re supposed to, but install XP instead because that’s what your customers want.

Says Dell: “With Windows Vista® Downgrade Service from Dell, you get a simple way to migrate to Windows Vista on your schedule”.

Dell will factory-install Windows XP Professional and give you the DVD to install Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate when you’re ready (you will also receive the DVD for Windows XP Professional). Dell will also support both operating systems on your PC throughout the limited warranty period.
