Dell XPS730 Series gaming PCs

Dell launched its high-end gaming PCs ‘XPS730 Series which are equipped with Intel Quad-Core processor. There are two models available for now, XPS 730 and XPS 730 H2C. The XPS 730 model adopts Core 2 Quad Q9300 (2.50GHz), 320GB HDD, 2GB of memory, and GeForce 8800 GT(512MB) while the XPS 730 H2C uses slightly higher clocked processor Core 2 Quad Q9550 (2.83GHz) and GeForce 8800 GT graphics card with 256mb memory.

Both the models will be shipped with Window Vista Home Premium (err.) and priced at 2,119,000 KRW for XPS 730 and 3,380,000 KRW for XPS 730 H2C.

Vista Downgrade Service from Dell

Well, you could take a leaf out of Dell’s book, and supply Vista like you’re supposed to, but install XP instead because that’s what your customers want.

Says Dell: “With Windows Vista® Downgrade Service from Dell, you get a simple way to migrate to Windows Vista on your schedule”.

Dell will factory-install Windows XP Professional and give you the DVD to install Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate when you’re ready (you will also receive the DVD for Windows XP Professional). Dell will also support both operating systems on your PC throughout the limited warranty period.

LG desktop PCs supporting Intel Turbo Memory

LG Electronics launched its desktop PCs ‘XPION R10 Series/S10 Series’ using Intel Turbo Memory (codenamed Robson) that is a technology to utilize NAND flash memory modules, reducing the time it takes for a computer to power up, access programs, and write data to the hard drive. The technology attempts to decrease hard drive usage by moving frequently accessed data over to the flash memory.

Running on Windows Vista Home Premium OS and Intel Core 2 Duo E8200, the XPION R10 Series features clock speed of 2.66GHz, 6MB L2 cache memory, 750GB HDD and 3GB DDR2 memory. It is expected to be available for around 1,200,000(KRW, monitor not included).

Adopting Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, the XPION S10 Series is equipped with Geforce 8600GT 256MB DDR3 Video Memory, 750GB HDD and 2GB DDR2 memory. Suggested price is around 1,300,000 KRW (monitor not included).

Mouse Computer’s laptop based on Penryn CPU

Mouse Computer released its 15.4-inch laptop ‘LuvBook PL300XH’ running on Intel’s Penryn CPU. Equipped with a wide screen with 1,280 x 800 (WXGA) resolution, 80GB HDD and 1GB memory, it supports Core 2 Duo T8100 (2.10GHz), GM965 Express chipset and thankfully comes with Windows XP OS (Not Vista).

It is available in Japanese market for 95,970 (JPY).

HP Pavilion m9000 premium desktop pc

HP Korea released its premium desktop pc ‘HP Pavilion m9000’ series which adopts Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q6600, nVidia GeForce 8600GT, 320GB HDD, and 2GB PC2-5300 RAM (1GBx2).

The most noticeable feature is its ‘Easy Back’ button that enables to transmit all the documents, pictures, movies, and music files to external hard drive for backup easily. If you set a certain time and features, it will be automatically done as directed.

HD Personal Media Drive Bay helps you to enjoy 3D graphic, high definition video play, and convenience of wireless in a high-end home entertainment. It also supports HDMI, HDCP, and dual format blue laser combo drive capable of playing both Blu-ray and HD-DVD formats.

It is available for 1,390,000 (KRW with 20-inch monitor included).
