Windows Genuine Advantage works?

November 26th, 2007 by Mohd. Hashim Khan

wga

Reports say that Windows sales were up 20 percent while worldwide PC sales were up only 14 to 16 percent means people who already had computers are also buying windows (who were earlier using pirated ones). Big guys believe that it’s due to WGA and people are forced to buy original stuff. But I have a second thought, after the final release of Vista and when all the branded computer manufacturers started giving pre-installed Vista, many people switched back to XP. This can also add up to the extra 4 – 6% purchase increase which is shown in report.

Phenom Box designs

phenom

AMD’s offices in Austin, Texas are busy these days selecting the best box design for their Phenom series of processors. The photo you see above is one of the proposed design (not final yet) but I think this design looks quite good but something more can be done. AMD is giving box design a lot of importance as this is what people see on ads and computer hardware stores. If a better box designs increases sales even by 1% then its worth the time spent on it. In my opinion, yes the design may bring them few more buyers.

Wal-Mart $200 Computer

November 13th, 2007 by Mohd. Hashim Khan

cheap computer

A week ago Wal-Mart began selling a $200 computer with 1.5 GHz VIA C7 processor and 512 MB of RAM. It’s meant to be used with light weight OS like ubuntu linux etc. The system is fast for work like browsing internet, documents related work but one can’t think of doing graphics work on it. Today when people happily buying Core2Duo based PC for just any use, this $200 computer by Wal-Mart was officially sold out of their online warehouses! I just can’t think of any reason for buying this computer when you can at assemble a Pentium 4 or D based computer for very cheap and you can also later install graphic card to play heavy duty games with ease and of course run windows xp and Vista. Still interested in this computer? Look here.

Sims 2 cheats at GamesRadar

sims2

Sims 2 is a game well known in the gaming community for its very interesting game play. What makes this game interesting that you live a virtual life in it, and do whatever you can think of doing in real life but since it’s a game and no one is harmed in it, people do many naughty things in this game. To make things easier, they use sims 2 cheats and using cheat in this game in particular is more enjoyable because it gives player a sense of power thru which he/she can control anything in life. Game developers include these cheats but keep them hidden from public; however it can’t remain secret for long in the age of internet. At game cheats sites like GamesRadar you can find these cheats in full detail like the sims 2 cheats which I just talked about. This game is totally different from other computer games, its almost never ending and people who have played this game say that you almost get lost in this game and sometime think that the life going on in game is your real life. Of course you cannot use cheat in real life (damn if I could!) but sims cheats are always available and you can use it in this game to make it more fun to play.
