Chinese mobiles banned in India

chinese mobile

Indian government banned use of Chinese mobile phones few days back. It was taken considering threat to county security after the 26/11 Mumbai Terrorist Attack. Reason why these phones will be banned because Chinese phones don’t have IMI number which is unique for every cell phone in the world and missing IMI number is just like a vehicle with no registration number!

People may get annoyed with this decision but let me ask you, Will you use a vehicle with no registration plate, no chassis number and no engine number? Definitely not! So why use a mobile phone which has no identification. I request people to dump these phones right now. These phones were cheap and many of them were clones of high end phones like iPhone, but none of them have IMI number. Besides threat to national security, these phones are a risky item to have in your pocket like insanely loud speakers, poor quality batteries which can explode and most important the bad impression you give to people around you when you take out that Chinese phone from your pocket!

I know people of India don’t like to thro things easily (even I don’t do being an Indian) so what I suggest to people who own or cell a Chinese phone to sterilize the phone! Make it useless for making and receiving calls by removing its SIM holder, microphone and everything that is related to making and receiving calls you find in the phone. A little bit of soldering iron work can help you in this, if you don’t know how to do then contact your nearby geek friend to do it for you. After this you can use the phone as a PMP (portable media player) since more of the Chinese phones are equipped with big LCD screen, loud speakers, microSD card and video playback capability. And finally its time to buy a decent branded phone. Cheers!

Digital Photo Frames from LG

photo frame lg

LG launched some elegantly designed digital photo frames models few days back, reason for such loose kind of review is that there is nothing exciting about the product. All you can expect is better built quality than Chinese / low cost brand photo frames. Like all digital photo frames, it also support multimedia functions such as video and audio playback from its internal storage or external storage devices like SD/MMC or MicroSD card. These frames are replacing old still photo frames in modern homes and offices. It is available in 7, 8.4 and 10.4 inch screen size models.

VAIO TT Series breaks the code

VAIO TT Series

Sony breaks the code ad we all saw on TV so what code they broke? It’s simply the screen size of their new VAIO TT series laptop which is 11.1 inches and not something which is industry standard like 14, 15 or 17 something size. Sony believes that this new size is best for laptop purpose but first thing comes in the mind of a person like me is screen resolution. I hope laptop users don’t have any difficulty finding wallpapers. Anyways, on the hardware part, this new machine from Sony uses Core 2 Duo processor 1.4GHz, 3MB L2 Cache (SU9400), 4GB RAM, 256GB Solid State Drive, Blu-ray Disc™ playback/recording, Bluetooth®, HDMI™ and all the normal goodies we see with every laptop. The body of this laptop is made of premium carbon fiber which means it can handle lots of abuse in everyday use. The VAIO TT Series comes with three different colors including black, gold and red. Suggested price is $4,345. This is definitely a lot of money but if you can spend then this is the laptop to go for.

laptop fujitsu

Fujitsu Korea launches its 12.1-inch notebook pc ‘LifeBook P8020′ in Korea market, which is powered by Intel Centrino 2 processor and 2GB of Turbo memory.

Featuring high-gloss finish with glossy black and pink gold colors, the P8020 adopts a 12.1-inch LCD with 1,280×800 resolution and a 1.3M webcam. Fit and finish of this laptop is great, I had chance to try my hands on one Germany made LifeBook P8020 few days back. From first look i found that display is really nice, crisp and bright and overall built quality was far superior than laptops of other brands in same range.

Nokia N85 Smart phone

n85

Nokia N85 is a perfect replacement for those tired of good old Nokia N95 and those who were thinking to buy N96 must wait for its launch which is tomorrow and get their hands on this new phone. This phone has best of everything what today’s users demand. Music, games, internet everything is there in it. Gaming capability of this phone is quite good and at par from other phones of this category, not only because of N-Gage gaming service but also due to generous screen size and buttons which are placed sensibly on phone for ease of playing. Dedicated game keys make it really easy to play and use the phone just like any standalone gaming device. The bright 2.6 inch OLED screen gives a crisp view and display quality is awesome. Styling features does not end here; this phone is a dual slide phone which means it can slide both up and down. If you slide it up, the keypad is revealed and when we slide it down, multimedia keys are in front of us. So now we got it that this phone is definitely a decent gaming device too, now coming to camera, Nokia has not disappointed in this front also.

5 megapixel Carl Zeiss optics and bright dual LED flash, sounds good? Yes it is indeed. Carl Zeiss are known to be a reputed brand in camera lenses and offer professional results. The phone takes pretty good still images and can be used as a point and shoot camera replacement if you are going to do photography mostly in day light. We have seen that video recorded from our phone are not smooth and have a jerky playback, its due to less frame rates. Nokia N85 camera offers up to 30 frames per second video recording capability which is great and we can expect smooth video playback free from pixels.

Nokia has taken care of music lovers very well and before I start telling about music capability of this phone, the best part I like is that they have provided standard 3.5 mm audio jack! This means that you can now connect a better quality headphone from any brand if you are not satisfied with the headphones that came in the box. Inbuilt stereo speakers are loud so they can be used to play music when you want others also to listen what you are playing.

Overall, the phone feels nice in hand, build quality I good and looks very sophisticated. I’ll consider it a good buy for anyone looking for feature full phone from a trusted mobile phone company like Nokia.
