People tend to keep lots of stuff in their garage; almost anything they find not useful goes straight to garage. This surely doesn’t look good and makes you feel embarrassed when someone else sees your garage. A garage storage system can solve your problem by giving ample storage space for all your items and yet giving a clean and well managed look to your garage. Metal garage cabinet’s works best and nowadays they come with very good finish with style to match your garage (and maybe even your car). A typical garage has some tools, spare parts, lubricants etc and these items do need a proper storage space. Misplacing a tool and not able to find it when you need it most is one such example that most of us had faced many times. If you have many tools then a workbench should be the best option for you.

metal cabinets

Most of the time car garage is neglected and only used as a store room for keeping stuff that is not used. Besides your car, it’s obvious that people will try to make use of the space in garage for keeping other things also but it often creates a mess. What you can do is install metal cabinets which will let you store things properly and safely. It will also give a pleasing appearance to your garage and if done properly, your garage can look like yet another room of your house! These cabinets are also best for storing tools which we often keep in garage for minor repair jobs which we do at home like wrench, pliers, screwdriver, hammer etc.

Toshiba Corporation announced a prototype hard disk drive that uses Discrete Track Recording (DTR) technology to boost capacity to a record-breaking 120 gigabytes (GB) on a single 1.8 inch platter. This is the first drive in the world to use DTR technology, a breakthrough technology that boost the areal density of a perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) by a full 50 percent.

Toshiba’s latest 1.8-inch HDD in the market offers a single platter capacity of 80GB; application of DTR technology boosts platter capacity to 120GB, and takes the recording density to 516 megabits per square millimeter (333gigabits per square inch). A servo pattern for tracking control is also formed on the disk. Being small, these types of HDD will be good for use in notebook PCs, portable media players and digital movie cameras etc.

DIY Optical mouse repair

logitech

Today I wanted to post something different, since many days there was no post on DIY topic so decided to give you all a nice tip on repairing your old optical mouse and make it like new once again. My friend Waseem had a Logitech Optical USB mouse which was about 5 years old and its left click button was not responding. This is mostly the problem will all mouse that after some time the button inside the mouse fail to work effectively. What we did here that we took a cheap mouse lying around in junk and took out two buttons (left and right click) from it.

You can easily do it using a soldering iron. I used a traditional 35W soldering iron which I am having since my school days. Here I want to point out that it’s not necessary that all brands will have same type of switch, so make sure you find an identical one. It will also be a good idea to wash the plastic parts of the mouse with soap and water and give it a shiny new and clean the PCB using pure petrol after you have completed the soldering job. Clean only the soldering side of the PCB using a paint brush.

After soldering the new buttons to Logitech mouse, assemble the PCB with wheel mechanism back to the mouse and put the cover back. Connect the mouse and it should work now!
