January 2nd, 2008 by

With many major emails service providers already turned your inbox to unlimited and those file uploading services getting too much traffic, survey by Computerworld survey of IT managers shows that over 27 Exabyte’s (Billion Gigabytes) of data to be achieved by year 2010. Though this figure looks huge, still it should not be a much problem as HDD capacity keeps growing. Few years back a typical 40GB PATA HDD used to cost same as a 250GB SATA cost today.

Goodbye electric bulbs

December 24th, 2007 by

US have passed a law that will not allow stores to sell incandescent light bulbs after 2012. The EU and Australia have already decided to dump the inefficient lighting devices by 2010. I must say (with full respect to Edison) that it’s a good decision. Every country should try to do same and encourage people to use CFL and florescent tube lights instead of bulbs. A 100W bulb will give the same amount of light as a 40W florescent tube will, so saving the 60W power is worth the extra you pay for this florescent tube.
