Turn Off in Style !

Got bored of clicking start button to shut down PC ? or just need a change which is faster and shorter ? Hibernate function do shortens the time of shutting down but then for that you have to press shift key and click together which is annoying. Trick described here also uses hibernate function but will let you shut down PC just by pressing two buttons on keyboard or double click. To start with you need to enable hibernate function. How ? Go to control panel, click on Power Options Icon and switch to hibernate tab and put a tick against Enable hibernation. Look at the pic below if you havent got it.
After doing that you need to created a shortcut on desktop, for that right click anywhere in the empty space of desktop > New > click on Shortcut. A Create new shortcut wizard will pop up which looks like this:

In the Browse button field you don’t need to browse here, just enter the following code:
%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll SetSuspendState
And click on Next button. Then it will prompt you to give a name to the newly created shortcut. Name it : Hibernate and click Finish. Shortcut is now created, for ease of use, you can place it in one corner of the screen so that it doesn’t mix up with other shortcuts on desktop. I have placed mine like this:

Opps! But my shortcut doesn’t look like yours ? well, heres the cosmetic part to give this shortcut an icon. For this right click on the shortcut - click on properties- click on Change Icon button. A window will popup with again a browse field.

No worries, no need to browse, just enter the following link and it will show the icons which windows have it for you :
C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll
Even after entering the above link, if it doesn’t show icons then you have windows installed in some other partition. In that case click on the browse button and just enter shell32.dll and click Open. Now it must show.
Select any icon which you like and click OK. Done !
Now whenever you need to shut down, just double click this icon or the more stylish way which I do is press H key on the keyboard and hit enter !! For this just remember there should not be any other icon on your desktop whose name is starting with H. If yes then change the name of Hibernate to 3Hibernate and it make even more easy now! How ? look at the numeric pad of your keyboard, 3 and enter key are very close your friends will not even notice how you closed your PC if you did it quickly

let me tell u my way of turning off your computer in style with just one button …
use power options to configure the the power button to be
used as a hibernation or shutdown button ….
it is something like this i can remember
“when i push the power button ”
select the option from the menu ..i prefer hibernation..
then whenever u want to hibernate press the power button thats it.. now tell me which is style yours or mine ..easy and fast..
no offenses..and also try (windows button +u+u) for a quick shutdown..

Yes Shashank, tats even more easier but there is a problem in it. Think of a situation when you are doing a very important work on computer and a someone (kids in home often do it) touch the power button poof all gone.. you are helpless and can do nothing and just watch all your unsaved work gone. Even if you selected hibernate you will not like it as it will cause unnecesary delay in work. So what i have done that whenever power button is pressed, it prommpts me what to do, in this way i am secure.
Its all about one’s choice, I like it this way, you may like it your way and someone (well most) just like the windows default !!

in the accidental case u can configure it to prompt also..it has options for that also..in hibernation delay in work is inevitable if someone pressed by mistake..
then its a matter of choice..

Thats what come out al last that one has to click at that blue pop up screen to shut down PC; the conclusion at last -
1. Push two buttons on keyboard to turn off - 1 Sec.
2. Bend and strech hand to push power button, again reach the keyboard to press enter - 5 sec
My trick safer and faster
(windows button +u+u) could have been equally faster but doesn’t worked, some speech thingy poped up instead.
