Karbonn mobiles recently launched model A18 is a value for money Android phone featuring Android 4.0 OS and 1Ghz processor. The key selling point for this model will be good hardware quality like use of IPS display screen which is used in Apple iPhone. However resolution is more in iPhone (960×640 pixels) while Karbonn A18 has 800×480 so there will be slight pixilation if looked closer while from some distance both display should look similar performing. But we cannot compare Apple to Karbonn as price difference between their phones is a lot and OS platform is different. Comparing with Samsung Galaxy series phone display which uses AMOLED technology, IPS screen appears slightly less crispy but resolution is better and you can read text much in IPS. Basically AMOLED appears brighter and vivid, while IPS is softer and natural. Built quality wise this phone will not disappoint its buyers as we have see with their older A9 model which was pretty decently built phone. This phone offer features of those big branded phones which comes almost double of its price which makes it a steal deal however how much trouble free performance it will give and availability of service centers in every city will judge the success of these low cost Android models from Karbonn. This phone is available in black and silver colour and priced about 10,000 rupees.

Karbonn A18 has the latest MediaTek MT6575 processor which allows 1GB internal memory, 8MP camera and display resolution upto 960×540 pixels but Karbonn decided to keep the figures low. Maybe they just wanted a Micromax A100 competitor for now because they knew their existing A9 which was similarly priced (back then) to A100 could not compete. Karbonn A18 is a re-branded Chinese phone of Neobox make just like Micromax which also re-brand Chinese phones so we cannot expect high specification from their phones. Micromax A100 uses Snapdragon 1Ghz processor which is also used in Samsung Galaxy range and HTC too but the new MediaTek processor also uses the same ARM v7 architecture as Snapdragon but with better graphics. Also this new MT6575 is designed for better performance in dual SIM smartphones.
