Yesterday on 19th September, the horizontal digital smiley [:-)] that we use every day during chat, writing email etc, turned twenty five! 25 years ago Professor Scott E. Fahlman of Carnegie Mellon University was the first to use this smiley’s and proposed [:-)] and [:-(] as jokes and not jokes markers respectively. Since then people started experimenting with many other combinations and made faces like:-P , (My favorite smiley), :-O and so on. Not to tell some dirty one’s too.
