Earn revenue from your YouTube videos

September 25th, 2011 by admin

Today Google emailed few selected users to test their new feature which allows YouTube users to earn revenue from their videos. For this they are using their old and trusted Adsense service. Upon activating the revenue earning service, the user is asked to create an Adsense account, if the user already have the account then it can be linked too and one just need to enter the email address, phone number and pin code used with that account. Upon entering your existing Adsense account, you will have to go to your Adsense account and allow YouTube request of revenue sharing. Good thing is that Google is strict about video content rights and you will not be allowed to earn from videos which contain any content that was either not created by you or you don’t hold commercial rights of that content. Once your account is activated, you can select the videos which you think are eligible and submit for monetization from my_videos page.

Is The Future Of Medical Coding And Healthcare Online?

September 15th, 2011 by admin

medical_doc.jpgWe’ve seen a lot of advancements in web-based technology, and, for the most part, society has had a hard time keeping up with it, to say the least. Applications and software is evolving quicker than we can find the best applications for them. To be fair, these technologies are making life much easier and accessible, but more and more services are now being providing online.

You can do practically anything you can think of, and, chances are, there’s probably an app for it. But with this mass influx of tech-services, many are wondering how far it will or can go. There may come a day when Medical Coding, nursing, and doctors all work in their professions remotely. One doctor is already doing this and it’s been more successful than you’d think.

Last month, NPR’s show, Morning Edition, reported on one doctor that had started seeing and diagnosing his patients via web chat. Video Chat Doctor Visits aren’t a new idea. but in practice, not many have tried it.

Dr. Ray Dorsey, a specialist that works out of John Hopkins Medical Center located in Baltimore, works with Parkinson’s patients via web chat. He’s done so for a while now and allows him to remotely examine patients hundreds of miles away. He can visually look at a patient, ask them to perform a series of movements, ask them about their mood and health, and make other visual determinations from a remote location. Of course, the practice does have it’s drawbacks, but many who use these services prefer this specialized option over no option at all.

It sounds like a great idea for cases like this, but there’s one problem, insurance companies won’t pay for the service. This is despite the fact that may people with specialized conditions, like Parkinson’s, have a hard time finding specialists anywhere near them. It’s tough to find doctors that are highly-qualified in specific areas of study and many feel that this form of medicine could one day become mainstay. Some have found a great resource through these telecommunication visits, but it’s still not widely accepted as a valid form of medicine.

Many feel that this mood is changing as technology proves to be the vehicle that fuels our ability. There may come a day when, as a way to cut costs or stay current, health care professionals begin to have online practices where patients can receive quality care via the web.

We’re still a long way off from this point, but if the rest of the social and business world is any kind of gauge, it’s only a matter of time. Most people throughout the globe are becoming more comfortable with using technology, and it’s become one of the largest parts of daily life. We spend hours interacting with it every day. Most people are, however, still unfamiliar or very leery of using such services.

Right now, technology really isn’t the issue at hand and has far more to do with acceptance. The implements and tools of the process, such as web cams and computers, now are far more affordable than ever before. The quality has also improved drastically in the space of years, not decades. No longer do we have to deal with heavy pixelation images and poor internet access. Our capability can now match our goals, but this form of medicine, called telemedicine, isn’t taking off.

Many feel it’s just a matter of time before we look to these options as a way to combat rising healthcare costs and needs. We have an aging population and the medical industry is have difficulty finding the qualified professionals to meet the demands of a growing population. It may very well mean that telemedicine could become common place in the not too distant future.

First look at BSNL WiMax Outdoor CPE

September 11th, 2011 by admin

bsnl_wimax.jpgAfter a few visits to BSNL office, we were able to lay our hands on their newly launched WiMax internet CPE. There are 3 types of CPE offered by BSNL, one is the USB dongle which is priced at Rs.2800, second one is somewhat similar to ADSL Wifi modem like and priced at Rs.4000 and the last one which we tested is the outdoor CPE priced at Rs.5000. This outdoor CPE will obviously have the best reception and when we tested, we found that it’s so powerful that it even worked when kept indoor! As advised by BSNL we installed it (we rejected the technical staff of BSNL request to install it for us) at 10 feet height on roof and aligned to the BSNL telephone exchange where it got the best signals. We have cat5 internal wiring in our building so we used that instead of LAN cable provided to avoid wire clutter. Also the LAN cable if only of 5mtrs which is of insufficient length.

wimax_outdoor_cpe.jpgSetting this device is pretty simple, there is a clamp provided which is used to attach the outdoor unit (ODU) to the pole and a long LAN patch cable which is used to connect the ODU to the indoor unit (IDU). A smaller LAN patch cable connects the IDU to PC. The IDU looks almost like a laptop charger but it’s much lighter as if it has nothing inside it. As soon as we power on the IDU, after few seconds we are connected to internet (no dialing nothing) and speed was surprisingly dot accurate 512 kbps which is offered in unlimited plan. Sometimes it takes its own sweet time to connect to base station and it can be really frustrating to user. Speed increases to 3.1 mbps at night but drops again to 512 in morning. This is not mentioned at BSNL website so might not be official. Talking of plans, there are four plans for home users and three for business. Plans start from Rs.220 per month which offers tiny 400mb download limit. Rs. 350 home plan gives you 1 GB download limit and Rs.750 plan will give you 4GB limit at speed upto 2mbps. speedtest_bsnl_wimax.pngHowever if you are okay with lesser speed of 512kbps, then BSNL gives you pure unlimited plan at Rs.750. Your monthly bill will be Plan cost + CPE rent + Tax. CPE rent will be Rs.40 for USB dongle and Rs.50 for outdoor CPE. At the time of purchase you have to pay 50% of the price of CPE (you can pay full price or buy your own CPE from market to avoid rent) and one month plan charge in advance. For example if someone opts for home unlimited plan and outdoor CPE then total amount is Rs.2500 + 750 = Rs.3250

Camp Management Software Stores All Data On An Easily Accessible Server

Camp software by Congregation Builder allows registrars access to all of their data without forcing them to maintain their own server. Because the camp management software is web based, multiple people can use it.

Camp Management Software Allows Registrars To Determine Costs

When setting up a camp, price is a main aspect that must be defined. With camp management software by Congregation Builder, the registrar can easily define all of the fees. The camp software lets the user define the cost of each event separately and price things their way. There are many different options available within the camp management software. One choice is “simple pricing” where each attendee is charged a fixed price. When the registrar chooses the “advanced pricing” option the price is calculated by choices made by the registrant as they sign up. For example, adult and child prices might vary or children might be charged differently depending on their age. In addition, there is a section for add-ons like T-shirts, extra activities, early-bird discounts, a discount for multiple campers in same family, etc.

Easily Display Cost To The Registrant With Camp Management Software

With the camp management software, a registrant can easily view the basic price and any extras that make up the total. A registrar has the option of allowing individuals to pay in partial payments or require registrants to pay the total amount up front. The camp software accepts payment by check or through PayPal. The camp software server has a two way communication with PayPal so that all secure operations are never seen by camp staff, including credit card numbers, user names or passwords.

Go green with Air Conditioners

August 29th, 2011 by admin

air_conditioner.jpgWhen we talk about saving water, we mostly talk about saving fresh and sweet drinking water. Earth area is covered about 1/3rd of water but most of this water is in form of hard water of oceans. The house hold water supply is of drinking water and we use this water for every work, even for washing our cars. Now washing cars certainly don’t need clean drinking water and neither can we wash it with hard water as the dissolved salts in the hard water will corrode the metal. Cars and air conditioners are two things that are harming our environment. But now with use of new refrigerant in air conditioners, it has become less harmful and with our tip it’s going to become even better. We have seen water dripping out of air conditioner which we let go in the drain, we can use this water to wash our car. On an average day, an AC can give out 20L of water or even more. This is enough for a not so dirty car and we can always store this water to make 50 – 60L. First of all we need to make sure that AC is serviced and is clean of dust and grime. We can let the water flow for one day so that any remaining dust is also cleaned and then start collecting this water. AC water if collected and stored properly is pure distilled water (but not clean enough to drink due to chances of presence of some dust particles so please do not drink this water or use it for making food etc) which can be very well used to wash cars. Also this water can be mixed with coolant and used in car radiator. Reason of using this water is because since it’s distilled, it’s free from salts which increase metal corrosion and our drinking water contains enough salts and minerals to start corrosion. If you find that you have collected really good clear looking water then you can further filter it and use it for topping up lead acid batteries of your car and inverters.

Will You Be Picking the Right Laptop for Your Workforce?

August 26th, 2011 by admin

For small business owners, the ability to empower your employees by allowing them to remotely handle work-related tasks is a worthwhile investment that’s sure to boost productivity and simplify individual data management. As a result, most office gigs these days include the company-provided laptop or tablet sidearm for employees to have the chance to take care of business anywhere.

But difficulties arise in selecting the right laptop or tablet model for the workforce. There are countless makes and models each with their own pros and cons. Then there’s the cost, which to someone unfamiliar with laptop pricing can be under-appreciated in relation to the components and capabilities of the device. You don’t want to spend too much, but then you don’t want to provide your workers with laptops they find unsatisfactory in getting their tasks completed.

Luckily, there’s a few things one can consider when browsing laptops for the workforce that can help avoid the purchase of unworthy devices and also keep the overall cost to a minimum.

Specialized or General?

The first thing to keep in mind is what your workers are doing on their computers. The level of sophistication regarding the software they use on a daily basis is important. Employees who function state-of-the-art graphics rendering of course need a machine with some serious kick. Those who are tasked with basic document creation and presentation put-together don’t need anything above standard.

But deciding this one point ultimately solves very little. There are still countless types to choose from in either category. Where does one begin?

Podunk or Pricey?

The first instinct is to just go ahead and get the most economical laptops possible with the minimal specs. For many cash-strapped small businesses, this is probably the best decision. But if it’s not the mere remote work itself that’s the goal, but improved work performed remotely, then you must take the time to choose a model that people enjoy using.

One good place to start is by going online and searching for the best laptops 2011 has to offer so far. Results that come from actual reviewers are going to incorporate all the factors you as a businessperson are already considering: price, performance, and quality. They’ll also divulge the dirty details about a particular model’s weaknesses that sales websites obviously omit. But above all, you’ll get to look at what the on-the-ground experiences tend to be for these models according to people who have used them.

Enjoyment or Economy?

Since you’ll know which laptop has the most comfortable typing experience, quickest speed, and most web-optimization, you’ll be able to weigh which factors you want against the cost you’re willing to pay. Generally speaking, laptops that get better user-ratings tend to be a little more costly, but they earn such high praise because they’re well designed, and are likely to be well-received by your workers.

If you want to issue laptops to your workers that are actually used to get work done, then you need to make sure they’ll enjoy using them. In accordance with your budget, this can be achieved greatly or hardly. The important thing is that you no longer only have one side of the issue to base your decision on. Armed with user-based information regarding laptops you’re sure to a model in your price range that your employees will be eager to use.
