Few days back we posted about Google fear on the growing popularity of social networking sites like Facebook and Linkedin etc. Google also admitted about lack of time they get to look at this but now they have come up with an answer and it’s called Google +. It is suppose to get tough competition from Facebook. The best part about Google + is that as soon as you add someone, you can at once add him/her to a group say friend or family or just any other group. This is possible in Facebook too but I am too lazy to spend time categorizing people. Google was working on it since many days and the first change we noticed was change in top bar in gmail that was modified to adjust the plus features. Then one fine day the main google.com theme was changed and soon after that we heard about beta testing invites for the Google +. Sometimes back Google introduced Buzz which was not a success but it is integrated in Google +. Google knows many people don’t like buzz so they have put a disable buzz link in footer of gmail. Talking of Gmail there are some minor but good changes with the launch of plus like a new button to go back to inbox instead of plain text, a refresh button which is not necessary but still good to have and report spam button is not just Spam. There are some changes in footer as well and it now shows last activity and percentage of space used in right and left respectively.

Working with iframe is always fun for me, it amuse me how easy it is to integrate external content in your own webpage. People say iframe is bad and I agree with it to some extent. Iframe at some places become necessary evil like for a webpage which has to display offers from an external affiliate page or to load a heavy picture gallery which you have on your expensive unlimited hosting on a website hosted on some slower host etc. The root cause of people thinking iframe is evil because some bad guys of internet started using it as an easy way to include malicious files on web pages. But let’s not blame iframe here and when it’s used for good purpose, it has only one problem left and that is with its height. What happens that since one has no control over the content of iframe so the height of the content may change and the iframe height may need to be adjusted frequently which is not feasible in cases where height can change more frequently and at any moment. When height of content becomes more than the height set in iframe code, it shows a scrollbar which looks bad and if you hide the scrollbar, the content gets chopped off from bottom. jQuery has a solution to this problem but it only works when the iframe link is hosted on the same domain where it its used. Now this is pretty much useless as why will someone use iframe for including something that is there on his own site? So problem still remains the same. So for now we have two options, one is to live with scrollbar or to make the height quite large so that it fits the content even if becomes more in height after sometime to avoid scrollbar.

While going to my farmhouse I noticed a construction going on near my place so I stopped by to ask the builder about the owner. Since the land was small pond before it was not in level of road at all and the work was going on to level it. Two excavators were employed to plough soil from higher level and put it where the level was low.
