5 Tips to Save Money when Shopping Online

When e-commerce business started expanding, people were not sure it will work or not. Main reason behind this doubt was how people will spend money on buying something that they don’t see in actual. But now after seeing the success of major E-commerce brands like Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal we can say that people never hesitate to shop online because they are getting more benefits when they shop online. First thing which everyone can agree is the amount of time and effort that we save when we shop online instead of going out shopping and buying from the market. Its super easy to shop online as the shopping portal are so much user friendly these days that even a 5 year old can order stuff.

Reason number two for shopping online is the attractive pricing that you can get. For most of the items sold online, I would say pricing is best when you buy it online with few exceptions like furniture’s and lesser known brands clothing’s. Let’s see how you can get the best pricing using these few tips:

Tip #1: Open all major e-ecommerce sites in different tabs of your browser and check pricing side by side of the same product. Suppose Amazon is offering the best price then go ahead and check the price of same product on Amazon mobile app. Sometimes these ecommerce sites offer additional discounts when you buy using their app.

Tip #2: Use coupon codes. Taking above example of getting best price on Amazon, now you are on Amazon App and you found that they are giving some discount on app, go ahead and go to checkout to get the final price. At this point there will be a column for entering coupon code. Find Amazon coupon code online and enter it to get additional discounts.

Tip #3: Good things come to those who wait. Apart from Big billion Day sale from Flipkart which does not happen often, all the ecommerce sites have a page that list “Today’s Deal” or with other names like Lightning deal on Amazon. If you want to buy something, look for that item on these pages as well. If you are not in a hurry to buy something then wait until that item appears on deals page. I have seen some really jaw dropping prices here.

Tip #4: Shop on weekends. Prices on weekends are lowest and I have checked this by monitoring price of few items for a month. Its good practice to monitor the pricing of expensive items so that you can buy when they are lowest. For example I was looking for a laptop table and a popular model was listed for Rs.2500. Sometimes its price would go down to 1800 and lowest I saw was 1500. At big billion day sale the same item was available for 1200 so I bought it. Due to monitoring of price I knew that I was getting a good deal on sale as not everything on sale may have the best price!

Tip #5: Discounts are offered on debit and credit cards too from time to time. When you are about to checkout, do check if there is a discount offer on particular banks card. Also remember than sometimes the discount is available on cards only when you have certain amount of products in your cart. Do not shop for unnecessary items to meet that figure, instead ask your friends if they need to buy anything right now and club your orders together. You can share the money you saved with your friend or buy him/her something cool!
